I just finished enhancing my own Linkedin profile. I cannot emphasize enough what a valuable tool a great LinkedIn profile has become. A traditional resume is a must, but you would be surprised how many people are making connections on this professional network. Let me show you how!

No I'm not offering stock tips today. As you consider your current resume, understand that the ability to stand out from the crowd is going to increase. Companies are finding that they can still make great profits with fewer employees, thus they will hire fewer people going forward. For many of you I'm sure you have submitted your resume to jobs you know you are qualified for, experienced enough, and yet do not get interviewed. There is a reason and it is not just bad luck.

One of my favorite sayings is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". Do something different, get your resume done by a Certified Professional Writer and be willing to pay a little more. A few hundred dollars stacked up against a position that could result in thousands of dollars of compensation, not to mention job satisfaction, seems like a great return on investment!

Just as I began my resume writing with a lot to learn, so begins my attempt at becoming a "blogger". I tell my clients they have 3-7 seconds to make a great first impression with their resume...I'm counting on honesty as that good first impression.
